A peek behind the curtain…
A not-entirely-serious video showing how we set up a temporary studio in an office meeting room to create (ahem) professional green screen footage
We were up in Manchester last month for a (fairly) standard headshot photoshoot. Our brief? Build a studio in our client’s meeting room and take photographs of some staff members for use in promotional activities. The client’s creative team wanted to isolate the subjects from the photographs and use them on composite backgrounds, so we didn’t even need to do the editing (just make sure we got everything right in camera. Which we aim to do anyway, because it’s much easier than the idea of ‘fix it in Photoshop’).
And there was one other request. If possible, and if we had time, could we capture some green screen video? So we packed our video lights and chroma key backdrops and said, “of course.” And, just like with the photographs, our clients were going to do their own editing. (So, once again, getting it right in camera was essential.)
As a quick insight into how we work, here’s a video we have created from the day (not, I hasten to add, the client’s output - we’ve not seen that yet. This is a quick concept of how things are done). Although this snippet is tongue in cheek, the broad steps are the same; and we approached the set-up for the video shoot with the end in mind, to make sure that what we recorded could actually be used by our client.
So if you need professional photography or video, look no further than a company that is flexible and can get fantastic results whether in a custom-built studio or in a temporary portable studio in your available space…
